Green wisdom: 5 amazing things that trees can teach us
As a tree enthusiast I was so happy when some trees were planted on my behalf by 9 Trees. In this climate of uncertainty, knowing that out there, these trees were geolocated and growing, made me feel like I had made a difference.
So to celebrate the wonderful planting work of 9 Trees and the amazing – ness of trees in general - these 5 Tidy Mind Doodles capture the well-being wisdom of trees for us to bear in mind during this time.
Trees are not scared to shake their leaves and shout – Here I am! They do not care about their imperfections. They proudly stand tall and bloom. You can be more tree. Try to focus on what you like about yourself so you too can bloom!
Nourish to Flourish - if you don’t look after yourself you can’t grow or support others! If trees don’t absorb water or sunlight they cannot grow to support the insects and wildlife that live in them! You are important too, so take time to give yourself what you need.
The shedding and regrowth of leaves remind us of the ever moving temporary nature of life. It reminds us that no matter what we are going through, that it will not last forever. So if you are experiencing good moments – relish them whilst they are here. If you are going through a bad time know that it will not last – it will pass.
Let it go – sometimes holding on to things from our past can be draining or overwhelming. It can stop us from new opportunities or new growth. Learn to let go of what no longer helps you to allow new change!
Trees come in all shapes, colours and heights and each is beautiful in their own way. We would not compare a Weeping Willow with a Cherry Tree - each have their merits in different ways. So try not to compare yourself to others – it will only lead to feelings of inadequacy!
